The chip you put in before the hand. No chip, no game.

Most habit apps ask nicely. Ante asks you to put something in first, so skipping always costs more than showing up.

How it works

Here's the deal.

Ante is simple, and it doesn't let you off easy.

  1. 1

    Pick one thing

A daily or weekly habit, or a goal with a deadline. Write it like you mean it, and decide now how you'll prove it.

    Prove it, every time

No honor system. A photo taken in Ante and checked by AI, a check-in from the place you said you'd be, or a timer you can't leave.

  3. 3

Miss it, and it costs you

Ante nudges you before the day runs out. If you still miss, whatever you put on the line goes: your card is charged once, your friend gets one email, or your habits freeze.

Last call: Go to the gym

    1:04 AM

2h to log it, or $20 is charged.

Go to the gym: streak broken

    3:00 AM

12 in a row, then a miss. $20 was charged.

the day runs till 3am. no excuses.

The stakes

You choose what a miss costs you.

Money on your card, a friend who finds out, a lockout, or just your word. Pick one and see exactly what happens.

FAQ

Fair questions.

Something else? support@useanteapp.com

When is my card charged?

Only when you miss. Putting money on a commitment saves your card and charges nothing up front. Miss, and you're charged once, the amount you set: $1 to $50 a stake, never more than $250 on the line at once.

Where does the money go?

Stripe charges it to your own card, and nothing is ever paid out to anyone. Not your friends, and not other users. The point isn't the money changing hands. It's that skipping costs you.

What if a charge is wrong?

Tap “Something wrong with this charge?” in the app. A person reviews your proof and how the commitment ended, usually within a day. If we got it wrong, the full amount goes back to your card.

What counts as proof?

Whatever you picked when you made the commitment: a photo taken in Ante that AI checks, a location check-in at the place you named, or a timer of 5 to 90 minutes you can't leave. The day runs until 3am.

What does my friend see?

They get one email when you name them, so they know they're on the hook, and one more only if you miss. They never need an account, and every email has a link to stop them.

Can I back out?

Right after you make a commitment there's a short window to call it off. After that, a staked habit takes 7 days' notice to end. You can always raise the stakes, but never lower them.
